Ripen WI Print
The school house in Ripen, Wisconsin holds significant historical importance as it marks the birthplace of the Republican Party. It was in this building where, in the mid-1850s, a group of like-minded individuals gathered to discuss their opposition to slavery and the expansion of its influence. Their meeting paved the way for the formation of the Republican Party, which would go on to become one of the major political forces in the United States.
Recently, the school house underwent a journey as it was moved to a new location. In honor of our party’s history, Sue had a print of the school house framed, and a drawing will take place during the September meeting to determine the lucky winner of this cherished piece of history. To participate in the drawing, tickets are available for purchase at the price of $5 each.
